Mom's birthday is next week because everyone in my family is a freakin' Aquarius. (It explains so much about us.) This is her present.

I maked a quilt.

Not even a remotely full sized quilt, obviously---it's 42" x 52", cause that's all the material I had and anyone I didn't want to get too ambitious my first time---but I was pleased with the general appearance of the thing. Learning quilts backwards and forwards is my goal for this year, and eventually I mean to make a quilt top and take it to my grandmother and get her to show me how to quilt something without it turning out crooked and lumpy.

It's very pretty. I expecially like the colors you picked.
Excellent job! I've always wanted to make quilts, but I've never been brave enough to just jump in and try it.

HOLY CRAP. I tried to start a quilt once and ended up with about 5 completed "9" squares and a need for a hole in my head. This is amazing! Well done!!!!!!!!
